Insulation Contractors Calgary

Choosing an insulation contractor in Calgary comes down to three things: experience with Alberta buildings, professional equipment, and a crew that stands behind the work.

Installation Done Right

Spray foam is only as good as its installation. Our installers work with professional rigs, wear full protective equipment, and lay down even, continuous coverage: walls, attics, rim joists and basements, in new construction and retrofits alike. The result is a building envelope without the voids and compression that undermine batt and blown-in jobs.

Residential and Commercial Crews

We insulate homes, garages, shops and commercial buildings across Calgary. Start with our attic insulation service, check what spray foam costs, or call (587) 802-3874 for your free estimate.

What Separates One Calgary Contractor From Another

Almost anyone can spray foam. What differs is what happens before and after. A contractor worth hiring inspects the building rather than quoting from a square-footage figure over the phone, writes down the product, the installed thickness and the exact areas covered, and says plainly where the work will not help. A quote reading "insulate attic" with a number beside it contains nothing anyone can be held to afterwards.

Open Cell and Closed Cell in an Alberta Winter

Closed cell is dense and rigid, gives a higher R-value per inch, adds stiffness and acts as a vapour retarder at thickness. In a climate with winters this long and this dry indoors, that vapour control matters, and closed cell earns its place more often here than it does in milder provinces. Open cell is lighter and cheaper and fills a cavity completely, which suits interior partitions and sound work. A contractor who only ever specifies one is specifying what they carry.

Vapour Barriers, Code and Who Is Responsible

Alberta assemblies are built around controlling vapour from the warm side. Closed cell foam at sufficient thickness performs that function itself, which changes what else the assembly needs; open cell generally does not. This is the single most common point of confusion on a retrofit, and it should be settled in writing before the work rather than argued about afterwards. Ask the contractor to state what the foam is doing in the assembly, not just its R-value.

Four Questions Worth Asking Before You Sign

Which product, and at what installed thickness. Whether the existing insulation is being removed or covered, and why. Who physically does the work, the company's own crew or a subcontractor. What happens to the attic ventilation once a roof line is sealed. Straight answers to those four tell you how a company operates; deflection tells you something too.

Questions

Common questions

Are you local to Calgary?

Yes. Our crews work across Calgary and the surrounding communities, on buildings that live in this climate.

Do I get a written scope?

Yes. The estimate names the product, the installed thickness and the exact areas included before any work begins.

Residential or commercial?

Both. Homes, garages, additions, metal buildings and commercial property get the same process.
